Daniel Smith – Bassoon virtuoso. Great recordings in both classical and jazz.
David Del Tredici – Composer. (I have a feeling he saved 20 century classical music from boredom). Romantic, unapologetic, political.
Dmitri Korneev – Pianist.
Ariadne Greif – Amazing soprano.
Gilad Cohen – Composer and pianist.

Dmitri Tymoczko – Composer, theorist. (If you write music, and you don’t have it yet, go get his book “A Geometry of Music”, right now. It’s powerful stuff. There’s also some really cool music analysis software in his site.)

André Mehmari – Brazilian composer, pianist.
Hermeto Pascoal – Composer, performer, poly-instrumentalist. Probably the greatest living Brazilian musician. Master of sounds. The most inspiring person I have ever been in touch with. If I had to chose one Brazilian musician, this is the man.
