Dentes de Guinga
Guinga writes amazing melodies and his harmonies are so rich and clean. In this arrangement I used three of his themes: Vô Alfredo, Choro Breve and Senhorinha. I play around with these melodies in an orchestral context.
Scored for Chamber Orchestra with Winds in 2s. 2 percussionists.

Sinfonia n.1 em mi menor.
- Movimento 1: Mostly Alegro – Uma Noite.
- Movimento 2: Adagio – Ela Deseja.
- Movimento 3: Andante – Aeroporto.
- Movimento 4: Mostly Presto: Outra Noite.
The first movement is in sonata form. A frevo rhythm underlines the first theme, though it is not heard with the full percussion that is characteristic of the style until the recapitulation. A maracatu rhythm underlines the second theme. Movements 2 and 3 derive from motifs taken from Tamanduá, the opera. The last movement is on a baião, mixed with something else.
Should be playable by a community orchestra level (winds in 2).
