Sinfonia n.1 em mi menor.
- Movimento 1: Mostly Alegro – Uma Noite.
- Movimento 2: Adagio – Ela Deseja.
- Movimento 3: Andante – Aeroporto.
- Movimento 4: Mostly Presto: Outra Noite.
The first movement is in sonata form. A frevo rhythm underlines the first theme, though it is not heard with the full percussion that is characteristic of the style until the recapitulation. A maracatu rhythm underlines the second theme. Movements 2 and 3 are derived from motifs taken from Tamanduá, the opera. The last movement is on a baião, mixed with something else.
This was written to be playable by a community orchestra (winds in 2), and aiming to be pleasant for an audience to sit through.

Dentes de Guinga
I am currently preparing a full orchestral arrangement of themes by Brazilian composer Guinga, to be recorded at the end of May. Guinga writes amazing melodies and his harmonies are so rich and clean, they fit really well in an orchestral environment. I am looking forward to this.
